Buoyed by strong advance booking and audience hype, Bad Newz is expected to open big at the box office!
At last, a movie that should have a strong opening day gross is released. A couple recently released films had a weak beginning despite having some outstanding content that could have made for an excellent opening. But Bad Newz is hitting the right note: the content is undoubtedly engaging, the anticipation is real, and advance reservations are starting to come in.
Based on the number of tickets sold, it is highly likely that a start of approximately 8 crores is in the works. But, since word-of-mouth plays a part in this one as well, it may begin to translate by evening and nighttime rather than waiting until Saturday. That would imply that Bad Newz may easily surpass the 8 to 10 crore milestone, and as of right now, this seems very likely. Bollywood has been waiting a long time for a double-digit, and Dharma Productions' offer should put an end to the wait.
Should this prove to be true, Vicky Kaushal would have solidified his status as a marketable star with strong box office performance. While The Great Indian Family was an anomaly, he did that with Zara Hatke, Zara Bachke, and Sam Bahadur last year. Bad Newsz should be good news for him. Triptii Dimri will undoubtedly advance in the major league as a result of this, and Ammy Virk will gain as well. Now, everyone's watching to see how the movie not just opens, but develops over the weekend.
