Arjun Rampal: Controversies the actor's been a part of

Arjun Rampal has recently been embroiled in yet another controversy - one involving his apparent filing for divorce with wife Mehr Jessia Rampal. The reports have been doing the rounds of the internet for a while now, and the actor took to Twitter to clarify his point of view...in, umm, a series of tweets calling the reports fake and refusing to do any personal interviews henceforth.

While time will decide what course that statement of Rampal's takes, we take a look at the controversies that the actor has courted over the years. This is not the first time that the Rajneeti star has been in the midst of a controversy. Here are the other instances when Rampal has been the subject of much discussion and debates.

Meeting gangster Arun Gawli

As recently as a month back, Rampal had come under the Mumbai Police scanner after the actor met gangster Arun Gawli at a Mumbai hospital. Gawli, who is serving a life sentence at a prison in Navi Mumbai, was at the hospital when Rampal paid him a visit. The actor later clarified his stand, saying that he had gone to the hospital to for a recce for his film, in which he plays Arun Gawli, and to meet the gangster to discuss the character.

Linked to Sussanne Khan

When Hrithik Roshan and his ex-wife Sussanne Khan first spoke about their decision to separate, a leading daily had reported how Arjun was the reason behind the split. Arjun's scathing remarks on the reports and the credibility of the daily apart, the Roshans, too, pitched in to criticise the false reports in the media.

Souring of relations with Shah Rukh Khan

That Shah Rukh Khan and Arjun Rampal shared a really friendly relation has been the stuff of entertainment tabloids for years now. However, after the film Ra.One, the grapevine went into a tizzy discussing how the two actors had had a fallout. Rampal later had said in an interview that what his equation with SRK was, didn't matter.

Problems with Ranbir Kapoor

During the shooting of the film Roy, rumours of Arjun Rampal being miffed with Ranbir Kapoor began being reported in the media. It was said that Rampal wasn't very happy with the fact that Kapoor's role in the film was more than just a cameo. However, the actors later silenced all rumours by saying that there was nothing wrong between them. And when the film released, it couldn't really rake in much moolah at the Box Office, either.
