Mumbai: The Bombay Municipal Corporation's insecticide department has served notices to actors Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Jitendra and singer Amit Kumar at their residences in Juhu and Malabar Hill after their bungalows were found to be breeding dens for dengue-causing mosquitoes.
While the nation, especially metro cities is suffering from hundreds of cases of Dengue, the crème de la crème of Mumbai are serving the purpose of the hosts to these dengue carriers. BMC conducted a check on all the major places in Mumbai and found out that the bungalows of our beloved celebrities were the breeding grounds for this deadly disease.
BMC's insecticide office informed CNN IBN that various checks and warnings were given to the celebrities, several times before the check, in order to give them time to clean up their premises. After the checking, it was found that the celebrities didn't take the warnings seriously and Dengue carrying mosquitoes kept breeding on their grounds.
Now, fine will be imposed on Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and Jitendra under section 381 (B) of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act for failing to keep their premises clean, while Amit Kumar has been given a warning under section 381. According to the Rajan Naringrekar, BMC's insecticide officer, "The notice and prosecution is lodged in the Metropolitian Magistrate Court. Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and Jitendra Kapoor have to pay the fine of Rs 2000 to Rs 10000, tothe magistrate. On the other hand, Amit Kumar Ganguly has been given notice of warning and after subsequent inspection if the work has been carried out, the notice will be closed. "
In a shocking revelation, BMC inspector informed CNN IBN that more than 1900 dengue-breeding sites have been found in the city and most of them are high rise buildings and posh areas like Malabar Hill rather than slum areas.
Answer is yet to be received from the celebrities, but the code of civic conduct shown by them is preposterous and worthy of a logical explanation.
