Nikhil Advani’s latest offering, Katti Batti starring Kangana Ranaut and Imran Khan failed to garner a great response from critic and audiences. the film was off to a very poor start with an occupancy of about 20 – 30 per cent. It did pick up a little at the night shows, but did not manage to set cash registers jingling bringing in Rs 5.28 crore at the domestic box office on day 1. The film, however, performed quite decent at the international market and earned Rs 3.31 crore on day 1.
Trade analyst and expert Taran Adarsh tweeted the collections on his Twitter account saying, “#KattiBatti crosses half-million mark [$ 503,000; Rs 3.31 cr] in international markets on Day 1. Biz should multiply on Sat-Sun.”
The film which failed to beat the day 1 collection debutants’ Sooraj Pancholi – Athiya Shetty’s Hero, is expected to pick up pace of Saturday and Sunday at both, the domestic and international markets.
