An FIR has been filed against actors Farhan Akhtar and Ranbir Kapoor for promoting a site that is said to dupe customers. The person who registered the FIR is a lawyer himself who has filed complaints under IPC sections 406 (Punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 420 (forgery) on September 19, in Keshav Nagar, Madiyangaon police station.
An FIR under the same sections has been lodged against the directors of the online portal, Sanjiv Gupta, Anand Sonbhadra, Piyush Pankaj, Kiran Kumar Sriniwas Murti and marketing officer Puja Goyal. The complainant had purchased a television set, which he did not receive within the said time as promised by the online portal. He further added that portal is fake and since Farhan and Ranbir are youth icons, people fall into the trap of buying goods from it.
With their films gearing up for release, ugly controversies like this will definitely not help Ranbir or Farhan. Let’s hope the legal issues get resolved soon.
