Matt Damon to Battle Vincent Cassel in Fifth Bourne Film

French actor Vincent Cassel is all set to play the villain in the next instalment of the Bourne franchise, starring Matt Damon.

Variety.com reported that Paul Greengrass, who directed Bournes Supremacy and Ultimatum, will direct and co-write the script with Christopher Rouse. Julia Stiles will return as Bourne's foe-turned-friend, while both Tommy Lee Jones and Alicia Vikander have been cast in unknown roles. The story is still under wraps but sources believe Vincent Cassel will play an assassin who is tracking Bourne.

Production is expected to begin later this summer. The film will tentatively hit the screens on July 29, 2016. Previous actors who have been a part of the franchise in negative roles include Clive Owen, Karl Urban and Edgar Ramirez.

Vincent Cassel, who was most recently seen in Child 44, has featured in films like Black Swan, Ocean's Twelve, Ocean's Thirteen and The Apartment. He will next be seen on the silver screen in Partisan, which will hit the screens in the USA on October 2.
