Designed on the lines of a popular sitcom Shrimaan Shrimati, the new version will feature Rashami and Shilpa Shinde reprising the roles of Reema Lagoo and Archana Puran Singh in the original, respectively. While Asif Sheikh was roped in to play Shilpa's husband on the show, it took a while to finalise an actor to play Rashami's reel hubby.
Producer Binaifer Kohli has finalised Sandeep Anand, who is currently seen in FIR (produced by the same producer) as constable Billu, for the part. A source reveals, "The show, tentatively titled Door Ke Dhol, has two families. The story is based in Kanpur and Sandeep will play a shopkeeper."
Sandeep, however, remained unavailable for comment.
