A while back we had reported that after the release of Jazbaa, Sanjay Gupta has fast moved onto his next venture which would feature Hrithik Roshan. Now we hear that the film which will be produced by Rakesh Roshan has landed in legal trouble with model - actor Sudhanshu Pandey accusing Gupta and the Roshans for copyright infringement.
Rakesh Roshan has totally denied these allegations and said, "We haven't launched any film yet so where is the question of it being similar." However, while the makers the of the untitled film, Sanjay Gupta and Rakesh Roshan, except for this statement have chosen to stay mum about the topic, we have learnt that Siraj Ahmad had been contracted by Pandey to develop the screenplay and dialogues of Farmayish. When we contacted Siraj he added, "Yes Sudhanshu had approached me with the story and had contracted me to develop the screenplay and dialogues. At that time I understood that the story belonged to him, however now I have learnt that the script belongs to Vijay Kumar, who has filed a complaint with the FWA (Film Writers Association) for infringement."
With this new twist, the script in question does not belong to Sudhanshu Pandey and this has been verified by the Film Writer's Association as well as Siraj Ahmed under whose name the script was registered the second time round. Vijay Kumar the original writer has issued public notices against Sudhanshu Pandey in the trade magazines this week and also complained against him in the Film Writers Association for copyright infringement.
