Director Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju has shattered every possible record at the box office. On its first day, it became the biggest opener of Ranbir Kapoor with the collections of Rs 34.75 crore. On its second day, it showed significant growth and earned Rs 38.60 crore. But what it minted on Sunday is truly unbelievable. The biographical drama raked in Rs 46.71 crore and became the highest single day grosser beating Baahubali 2 (Rs 46.50 crore). Sanju raked in Rs 120.06 crore in its opening weekend and became the highest first weekend grosser surpassing biggies like Padmaavat, Race 3 and Baaghi 2.

Interestingly, Padmaavat, which had collected Rs 114 crore in its first weekend had enjoyed the extended weekend of 5 days. The film has also turned out to Ranbir Kapoor’s highest weekend grosser surpassing the business of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Besharam. Looking at the trend, we are expecting the film to cross Rs 175 crore mark in its first week at the box office.
Since the film has positive reviews, we are expecting Sanju to enjoy a long run at the box office just like Rajkumar Hirani’s previous ventures. Apart from the domestic market, the film has performed phenomenally well in the international circuits, especially in Australia, USA, Canada and UK.
