After Neetu Kapoor's adorable post for Ranbir and Alia, Rishi Kapoor congratulates son for Filmfare win

After Neetu Kapoor's love-filled congratulatory post for Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor shared they are proud of their son for his Best Actor win.

For all Ranbir Kapoor fans, this year's Filmfare Awards was a memorable occasion indeed. Apart from the fact that he and his lady love Alia Bhatt were show stealers together, making it perhaps the first time the couple engaged in PDA, Ranbir also took home the Best Actor award for his impressive performance in Sanju.

The actor, who brought to big screen the life and times of Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani's directorial, had earned critical acclaim and commercial success for the film. Even though the film released back in June last year, Ranbir's Sanjay continues to be regarded as one of the finest real-life characters on screen. Soon after his big win, Ranbir's mom and yesteryear actor Neetu Kapoor took to social media and shared her happiness. She congratulated both Ranbir and Alia, who won the Best Actor (Female) award for her impeccable performance in Raazi.

While Neetu took to social media to share how elated she's over Alia and Ranbir's big win, Ranbir's dad, Rishi Kapoor, also expressed his happiness. According to a report in DNA, Rishi shared that both he and Neetu Kapoor are proud of Ranbir for his achievements. He has been quoted as saying, “In 11-and-a-half years, Ranbir has picked up as many as six major awards. Neetu and I are very proud of our son.”

Meanwhile, Neetu had shared a love-filled photo of the real-life couple Alia and Ranbir and had captioned the photo as, “AND moments like these make you forget all the stress congratulations so proud n happy #filmfareawards #bestactor#bestactress.”

For the uninitiated, back in 2008, Ranbir had won the Best Male Debut award for his performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya. Following which, he won the Critics Award for Ayan Mukerji's Wake Up Sid, Best Actor Critics and Popular Awards for Rockstar and Best Actor awards for Barfi! and more recently, Sanju.

On the film front now, Ranbir and Alia will be seen together in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra, the logo of which was unveiled recently. The film is slated for a release in December this year.
