Sushant Singh Rajput's family shared screenshots of WhatsApp chat sent to Mumbai Police informing them in February that the actor's life was in danger.
Sushant Singh Rajput's family released screenshots of WhatsApp chats sent to Mumbai Police, informing them that the actor's life was in danger. The chats also revealed that Rhea Chakraborty, Sushant Singh Rajput's girlfriend, kept him at a resort near the Mumbai airport for three months. These chats are from February 25, 2020, and the family's legal counsel, Vikas Singh, had earlier shared the same in an exclusive interview with India Today. Today, Sushant's family released proof that they, in fact, had intimated Mumbai Police, who, however, failed to take any action. In the chats, it is also evident that the family had clearly mentioned to the police that at the time, Sushant was completely "under Rhea Chakraborty's control". Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra apartment in Mumbai on June 14.
Vikas Singh, the legal counsel of Sushant Singh Rajput’s family had earlier told India Today that Mumbai Police was informed by the actor’s family that his life was in danger and urged them to take immediate action. “We had told Bandra Police on February 25 that Sushant is not in a good company and please have a look at him so that no harm happens to him. And that was the time when he was in complete control of Rhea Chakraborty,” senior advocate Vikas Singh had said.
In an exclusive interview to India Today, Vikas Singh also revealed that while even Bihar Police was unwilling to file an FIR in the case as it involved some "high-profile people", the FIR was finally lodged after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar intervened. “When we approached Bihar Police to lodge an FIR they said high profile people are involved. I am thankful to CM Nitish Kumar that he considered our request and got minister Sanjay Jha involved in the matter. When he explained the matter to the police then an FIR was registered,” advocate Singh added.
Today, in a media statement, Sushant Singh Rajput's father KK Singh urged Bihar government to intervene and look into Rhea Chakraborty, who has been on the run. He said that Bihar Police, despite several attempts, has failed to trace Rhea and record her statement.
Earlier, Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey also requested Rhea to join the investigation and confirmed that while they have attempted getting in touch with her, they were unable to.
However, Rhea's lawyer Satish Maneshinde today, responding to Bihar DGP's claim, said that Rhea isn't missing, and that she has recorded her statement with the Mumbai police. Maneshinde also said that Rhea is yet to receive any formal notice or summons from the Bihar Police.
Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate has questioned Sandeep Sridhar, chartered account (CA) of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in connection with the money-laundering case lodged against Rhea Chakraborty by Sushant's father KK Singh. Sandeep Sridhar was earlier questioned by the Mumbai Police.
