Raghubir Yadav and Saurabh Shukla to star in Kaushik Ganguly's Manohar Pandey

Acclaimed Bengali filmmaker Kaushik Ganguly is set to make his Hindi debut with a project titled Manohar Pandey. The film stars Saurabh Shukla, Raghubir Yadav and Supriya Pathak Kapur in the lead.

National award-winning filmmaker, Kaushik Ganguly, is set to begin filming for his first major Hindi feature titled Manohar Pandey in Kolkata today. The project stars a cast headlined by actors like Raghubir Yadav, Saurabh Shukla and Supriya Pathak Kapur.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce Kaushik Ganguly's debut in the Hindi circuit. He wrote, "ACCLAIMED #BENGALI DIRECTOR'S #HINDI DEBUT... #NationalAward winning director Kaushik Ganguly starts his first Hindi film: #ManoharPandey... Stars Raghubir Yadav, Saurabh Shukla and Supriya Pathak Kapur... Shoot begins today... Produced by Surinder Films... Nispal Singh presents (sic)."

Actors Saurabh Shukla and Raghubir Yadav are in Kolkata to shoot for the director's forthcoming drama. Supriya Pathak Kapur is said to be enacting a pivotal role in the film as well.

ABOUT KAUSHIK GANGULY

Kaushik Ganguly began his film journey with Waarish, which was released in 2004, and starred Debasrree Roy and Sabyasachi Chakrabarty in the lead. It was also Churni Ganguly's first film on the big screen.

Several of Kaushik Ganguly's directorial ventures like Nagarkirtan, Jyeshthoputro, Bisorjon and Bijoya speak volumes about the director's vision and craftsmanship. Needless to say, the adroit filmmaker has several National Awards and accolades to his credit for churning out one socially relevant film after another.

The shooting for Manohar Pandey, which is tipped to be based on true events, has commenced at Kumartuli in Kolkata today. The colony is said to have a historical significance due to the presence of idol makers and potters.
