Dosanjh's appearance on the show marks a significant milestone in his career, showcasing his talent and appeal beyond traditional boundaries. His adaptation of the lyrics was a direct acknowledgment of the stars and recognition he has garnered in Hollywood, highlighting his growing presence and influence in the global music scene.

Diljit Dosanjh recently achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Punjabi artist to perform on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. During his appearance, he thrilled the audience with performances of his hit tracks “G.O.A.T” and “Born To Shine”. Jimmy Fallon introduced Diljit as ‘the biggest Punjabi artist on the planet’ and invited fans to catch him on his ongoing Dil-Luminati music tour across North America.

Diljit's stage presence was adorned with traditional Punjabi attire, including a matching turban, pleated fan, and a shiny watch, showcasing his deep cultural roots.

After delivering electrifying performances, he paused briefly to sing the line “Mein hu Punjab” from his film Amar Singh Chamkila with Imtiaz Ali. Impressed by Diljit’s charisma and talent, Jimmy Fallon joined him on stage and exclaimed, “That is how you do it!” Diljit responded by playfully rolling his mustache in a classic Punjabi gesture.

During his performance of "G.O.A.T", Diljit made a notable tweak to the lyrics, pointing at Fallon and singing, “Hollywood vich jine stars hai unade vich baitha sardar goriye”, replacing the original reference to Bollywood and Khans.

Reflecting on his achievement, Diljit Dosanjh had shared his excitement earlier on Instagram, expressing his anticipation and dreams for the momentous occasion. He spoke about his lifelong aspiration to become a renowned singer and actor, emphasizing how he aimed to be recognized globally.

This landmark appearance on The Tonight Show adds to Diljit's string of successes, including being the first Punjabi artist to perform at Vancouver’s BC Place stadium and Coachella in 2023. Currently, he is preparing for the release of "Jatt and Juliet 3", continuing to expand his influence and reach in both music and cinema.
