PIKU AND HER BABA QUARREL, ARGUE AND COMPLAIN ABOUT EACH OTHER THROUGH THE ENTIRE TRAILER. CAUGHT IN THEIR VERBAL CROSSFIRE IS ACTOR IRRFAN KHAN, WHO PLAYS DEEPIKA'S LOVE INTEREST IN THE FILM
Big B and Deepika in a still from Piku
Amitabh Bachchan excels in the role of a cranky father who throws child-like tantrums with his daughter, played by Deepika Padukone, in the first trailer of Piku. (Also Read: Piku Poster Gives a Peek into the Lives of Deepika, Big B, Irrfan)
Piku and her Baba quarrel, argue and complain about each other. She's a hands-on daughter who juggles between her work and taking care of her Baba who's completely dependent on her. The trailer beautifully captures their roller-coaster journey and the tender father-daughter bond. The reason for Big B's agitation is his constipation problem. Infact, the punchline of the trailer is, "Motion se hi emotion." Worried about his bowel movement to the point of obsession, Big B is ticked off by Moushumi Chatterjee, that the constipation is in his head.
Caught in their verbal crossfire is actor Irrfan Khan, who plays Deepika's love interest in the film. And while he pulls Piku's leg about her Baba's quirky ways,' he appreciates how she fulfils her responsibilities, juggling between work and taking care of her '90-year-old son.'
Directed by Shoojit Sircar, Piku, which explores the ups and downs in a father-daughter relationship, will hit the screens on May 8.
