Uh oh! Looks like there is some more trouble coming Anurag’s way. Read on to know more…
As things stand, Raveena Tandon goes largely missing from Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet.
Originally, she had shot for a song that introduced the film’s characters as the opening credits rolled. That song is now gone. Her second song also has been largely snipped and only a portion of it remains.
The film’s length was a worrisome factor and BV’s American editor Thelma Schoonmaker (who edits the films of Martin Scorcese) wanted all the songs to go.
Says a source close to the project, “BV is three hours long and had to be. It had to have a running time of close to two hours. So, Thelma suggested cutting out three of Anushka’s songs and both of Raveena’s tracks.”
So now, Bombay Velvet will open with a big thanks to Raveena Tandon. Well, something is better than nothing
