Sonakshi Sinha starrer action-drama Akira has become the biggest female centric opener of all time in Middle East at the Box Office. The film collected $ 139,000 (92.91 lacs) on its opening day in UAE and Gulf markets.
With this, the film has beaten the opening day collections of other women centric films like Neerja ($ 135,000) Mary Kom ($ 90,000) and NH 10 ($ 70,000) in the Middle East region.

Akira is directed by A.R. Murugadoss and it also stars Anurag Kashyap and Konkona Sensharma in key roles.
