Just like every other week, we are here to police the fashion choices of our beloved celebs and question, along with you, as to what were they thinking while making such questionable choices. Not that it helps matters any, but we feel it is our duty to help these celebs see that they are committing a grave fashion offence and that they better mend their ways and soon. However, we have been spotting a few regular fashion offenders since the past few weeks. So, don’t blame us, if you think we are a little too harsh while criticizing them. We, too, can only be as patient, you see.
The week that was, turned out to be an interesting one thanks to IIFA, which was held at Bangkok this year. We spotted a host of celebrities there, and thankfully most of them put their most into their appearances. So, we didn’t have a lot to complain about. While none of them really experimented either, playing it safe is still acceptable. But some horrors were too grave to be overlooked. And here’s a compilation of some of them…
Shraddha Kapoor
Shraddha, you are such a bright, young thing. And yellow is such a bright, happy colour. But that dress is as unflattering as your last film was to your career. And what’s with so much bling? We wish there was something good that we could have been said about the dress but unfortunately, there isn’t. Unless you break into a Hula dance and serve us some pina coladas on the beaches of Hawaii, we don’t see how this can work.
Kajal Aggarwal
Everything was fine with this dress. It could have led a safe life, away from the piercing eyes of the fashion police. However, the hem of Kajal Aggarwal’s dress went rogue. It went to town and partied the night away, only to return the next day, hungover. We give it to the actress for trying to save grace by keeping her accessories to a minimal, but sorry, dear girl, that curtain of tassels is too ugly to be excused. If this was a game show about dresses, this one would go home.
Urvashi Rautela
Here’s come our regular fashion offender. Urvashi Rautela is such a fixture here you might think she dresses up only to ensure she makes it to this list. Look at this wrapper that she is wearing, for instance. What girl, in her right mind, would want to swathe herself in such a frumpy contraption. While we love her earrings, they are not enough to save the disaster that this appearance is. Even King Midas got tired of all the gold a while later. We wonder as to when will Urvashi see the horrors of her ways.
Zaira Wasim
It was just a couple of weeks ago that we admonished Zaira Wasim for being so over the top. You would think the girl would listen. But, no. Why pay heed to the fashion police, right? And so here she is again, dressed in what can best be described as a Halloween costume that woke up from the dead in the middle of Spring because resurrection, folks! Only a biker’s marriage to a ballet dancer can justify the presence of this gauzy skirt with a leathery top dress. And then there is that tacky bow in between to make matters worse. Dress your age, Zaira, and while you are at it, also shop in this era.
Richa Chaddha
Here’s another regular. We kind of are stumped by the fact that these celebs are consistent with their bad choices. Richa Chaddha’s dress is perhaps great for a night of letting your hair and dancing if she were born in the ’50s. But here it is completely out of place. We don’t like the texture, which, in all probabilities is velvet, we don’t like the silhouette of the dress, and we also don’t like how ill-fitting it is. Nothing works here.
