Twitter reacts to Kim Kardashian-Kanye West’s son’s name, ‘Saint’
Kim Kardashian's latest series of images on Instagram on Wednesday, June 26, recalled Marilyn Monroe, a style icon of the 1950s and today. The 43-year-old reality star resembled the Some Like It Out actress, particularly in a sequence of bikini photographs, which can be found here. Many admirers pointed out the parallels in the comments section.
Kim wore a leopard-print bikini in the first set of sepia-toned images, and her stances in several of them were clearly inspired by Marilyn Monroe's legendary photos. Her blonde hair was likewise cut in a bob-like manner, comparable to Marilyn's most iconic looks. Aside from the bikini, Kim wore a similar animal-print mask. She ended the set with a full-color photo of herself posed with an old-fashioned camera.
The following series of photographs contained a few additional colour photos. Her ensembles consisted of a fur coat that covered her entire body, a suit, and another, longer fur coat with a matching hat and white boots. The final set captured her from a variety of angles in a provocative sequin dress.
Many people commented on the resemblance between Kim and Marilyn. "Looks like you're about to sing Happy Birthday to the President," one person said. "It gives a Marilyn Monroe Tigers 1960s era vibe," another enthusiast said.
While Kim did not specifically mention the similarities between herself and the Gentlemen Prefer Blondes actor, she has never denied her admiration for Marilyn. Kim has expressed her respect for the Hollywood star several times at the Met Gala, wearing outfits worn by her as she walked the red carpet. Most famously, the Kardashians star struck attention at the 2021 Met Gala in the same dress that Marilyn wore when she memorably sang "Happy Birthday" to President John F. Kennedy, though she later acknowledged that she only wore the garment for a short time.
