It’s only been a week since Mahesh Babu’s SPYDER release talks of a Bollywood remake had already started doing the rounds. Some reports suggested, Mahesh Babu might debut in Bollywood with the Hindi remake while some reported Salman Khan was in the running for the Hindi Remake. Considering, Salman Khan has been part of most of AR Murugadoss‘ south film remakes, the actor was an obvious choice. But AR Murugadoss has clarified these reports once and for all in an
interview with Deccan Chronicle: “Salman has a huge following in Andhra Pradesh too. They would be disappointed to see him doing something they’ve already seen another superstar do. No, I will make only an original film with Salman,” It’s interetsing that he says, because some of Salman Khan’s biggest htis have been remakes of his South films. So why NOT SPYDER? Adding to this, there have been no confirmations about Mahesh Babu’s debut. SPYDER was one of the biggest releases of 2017 starring Mahesh Bbau, SJ Suryah and Rakul Preet Singh. The actioner released in Tamil and Telugu. The film has opened to mixed reviews however, Mahesh Babu and SJ Suryah’s performances have been hugely praised. While some have declared the movie a hit, some reports suggest the movie is facing huge losses. The film was amde on an ambitious budget of Rs 120 crore. Will the movie recover its high production cost/ Thta remains to be seen.
The film follows the story of an intelligence officer who saves lives of commoners by tapping on public calls. One such call results in the tragic death of two women. On probing further, THE SPY realizes a psychotic killer is behind the detah of these two and he has bigger plans in mind. The rest fo film is about how he tries to save the city despite the grave situation he himself has landed in.
