It is indeed a moment to rejoice as our trailblazing shining star Deepika Padukone is the latest Bollywood celebrity to get a wax statue at London’s famous Madame Tussauds Museum. The others who find a place there are Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Shah Rukh Khan. In a Facebook live video from the venue, Deepika spoke about how excited she was to join the club. She said, “It’s fun, exciting and in a way I feel a lot of gratitude because you know when you give your fans a little more than just the movies, then it’s really, really special. I hope they enjoy it as much as we enjoy creating it.”
There is one more exciting development. The actress’ statue will be kept in the A-Listers section with the likes of Angelina Jolie and Helen Mirren. She won’t be placed in the Bollywood section. This is what has been posted by some fan clubs on social media. Deepika is an international star after doing a top project like xXx: The Return of Xander Cage and her pictures are all over in the western media as well. Time magazine also named her as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2018. The statue will be available for display early next year in London and in New Delhi. We cannot wait for it to be unveiled.
I think Madame Tussauds is so iconic in so many ways so it’s really special.” Deepika has also gained immense recognition for her work in removing the stigma attached to mental illnesses like depression.
