AAMIR KHAN ANNOUNCES FORREST GUMP REMAKE IN HINDI ON HIS 54TH BIRTHDAY AND TWITTER IS ALL PRAISES

The perfectionist of Bollywood, Aamir Khan, turned 54 on Thursday and we must say that the star is not growing older anytime soon. Even on his birthday, the actor does not look as if he has crossed the 50-year mark. Like every year, this year too, the actor shared the joy of his birthday with the press. Many journalists gathered at his Mumbai residence and were a part of the birthday celebration which was then followed with a conversation. Aamir is known to spill interesting beans during these interactive sessions. This time around, he announced his next film, an official remake of the Hollywood classic - Forrest Gump.

“I have an announcement for my fans and media. I have finalised my next film and it is titled Laal Singh Chadha. It is a remake of American film Forrest Gump. It is being made by Viacom 18 and Aamir Khan Productions. Advait Chandan will direct it. We have bought the rights from Paramount Pictures,” he told the reporters. Released in 1994, Forrest Gump starred Tom Hanks and Robin Wright and was a comedy-drama. Not just this, Forrest Gump went on to win Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Director (Robert Zemeckis) along with awards in Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Visual Effects, and Best Editing. Hanks also won his second (and so far his last) Oscar in the Best Actor category for this one. Further, seeing the film's massive success, in 2011, the Library of Congress decided to preserve the film in the United States National Film Registry.

The Hindi remake will be titled Lal Singh Chaddha, revealed Aamir. He will be portraying the role of a Sardar in the film and will be shedding around 20 kg for this one. Wow, the shapeshifter has geared up for a drastic transformation. Aamir's last release, Thugs of Hindostan, failed to succeed at the box office. We hope this one weaves magic. Aamir's fans on his birthday can't keep calm and have declared their love for the same on Twitter. Have a look:
